What does yoga for students look like?
The beauty of The Yoga Project’s program, is that its benefits are available to students of every school-age, ranging from kindergarten to high school. In kids, youth and teen yoga classes, there is a balance between spontaneity and structure, so that children learn to listen to each other as well as express themselves creatively in a non-competitive learning environment.
For young students, classes interweave story, song, games and poses, allowing children to learn in a multi-sensory environment which explores kinesthetic, visual, oral, inter- and intra-personal learning. Elementary students benefit from yoga by building upon their gross motor skills, while taking on challenges in strength, agility, and endurance, as well as cooperation. Benefits for teenagers include creating a safe place to thrive and reconnect their bodies with their minds.
